Detail Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport terminal Sherpa Royal Trek & Expedition staff and guide will receive you with a warm welcome and then transfer to respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu around the interesting area of Thamel. After refreshment our guide / leader will brief with information regarding hotels, Nepali culture, tours and trek to Lower Mustang & Kaligandaki Valley trekking with a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurant with folk cultural program.

Day 02 : Preparation day in Kathmandu
We separate this day for the preparation of the entire journey. You will be informed of all the trekking plans and the packing lists, what you can expect and how it can be more interesting. This day can be important to most of the people before beginning the journey. Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu is optional when if intended, you can visit a number of world heritage listed places .

Day 03 : Drive to Pokhara 860m (220 km) – 06 hrs.
Early morning an interesting scenic drive for about 06 hours to popular tourist city at Pokhara on the main busy highway, the drive carry’s on with fantastic vista of snowcapped mountains of Mt. Annapurna-Manaslu and Mt. Dhaulagiri with the famous beautiful peak of Machapuchare the Fish Tail shaped mountain which is unclimbed so far and well respected and regarded as sacred mountain in its natural structure, at Pokhara transfer to respective hotels by the serene Phewa lake. If it’s a flying option a sweeping scenic flight of 30 minutes to Pokhara on arrival our staff will transfer you to respective hotels by the Phewa Lake side with afternoon at leisure.

Day 04 : Drive to Nayapul 1,100m begin trek to Hille 1,450m – 04 hrs.
After a wonderful stay in the world’s popular tourist spot in Pokhara, morning a little than two hours’ drive leads away from the Pokhara valley, drive takes through mid-hills towns and villages with superb views of landscapes and Annapurna mountain range including the majestic Mt. Machapuchare “ The Fish Tail” after an interesting two hours journey reaching at Nayapul (new bridge) located on the Pokhara-Baglung / Beni highway, from here our trek starts with a gradual walk through the nice village of Bhirethati here encountering trekkers, mule and donkey trains, our route leads on ancient trail to Tibet by Trans-Himalayan Salt Trade Route, walking through farm lands and villages, then reaching at Hille village for the first night stay in the comfort of a nice cozy lodge after a day’s good walk of four hours.

Day 05 : Trek to Ghorepani 2,840 m – 05 hours.
Morning walk from Hille and then to Tirkhedhuga leading to a steep up for about two hours on the paved stone steps all the way to the top of Ulleri village overlooking grand views of the surrounding landscapes and of snowcapped peaks of Annapurna South and Mt. Machapuchare, after the strenuous uphill climb the walk gets better on the winding path through cool forest path, walking into serene green alpine tree-lines of oaks-pines and rhododendron, slowly walk reaches with a short climb gaining more height at Ghorepani- Deurali village with fantastic scenery of world’s 07th highest Mt. Dhaulagiri and its range of peaks towards North West, view includes Annapurna South and Vara-Shikar also known Annapurna Fang, this lovely village Ghorepani located on the high spot in the midst of old Trans-Himalayan Salt Trade Route which stretches all the way to Upper Mustang unto Tibet the people of this area are Pun Magar tribe and this place is famous and popular for the hike to Pun Hill a view point offering super wide angle views of world’s three highest peaks and range of other mountains with striking sunrise and sunset.

Day 06 : Morning hike to Pun-Hill and trek to Tatopani 1,050m-1,230m – 06 hrs.
Early morning at the break of dawn an hour hike to Pun Hill at 3,190 meters top if the morning is fine and clear striking sunrise views over mountain panorama ranging from peaks of Dolpo area, Dhaulagiri massive range, Nilgiris peak with Annapurna and Manaslu range with magnificent Mt. Machhapuchhre. After an exciting and enjoyable time head down to Ghorepani for breakfast and start trekking towards Tatopani. On reaching Kaligandaki River after Ghara, walk is gentle on the wide trail following the river and crossing the bridge to reach at Tatopani village by the Kaligandaki River where the hot springs are located. The climate here of sub tropical temperature with citric trees of oranges, afternoon enjoy a dip in the warm pool just few minutes down from the lodge.

Day 07 : Trek to Ghasa 1,610m – 06 hrs.
Walk this morning leads following the Kaligandaki River with great views of Nilgiris South peak, our route heading higher up the river after the village of Dana and then leaving the warm rice terraced area for alpine weather and landscapes overlooking beautiful cascading waterfalls of Rupsi across the river down below, Ghasa the start of Mustang district inhabited mostly of Thakali tribe of people surrounded by confer forest of pines and rhododendron trees.

Day 08 : Trek to Marpha 2,670m – 06 hrs.
From Ghasa to Marpha will be one of the longest day walk of this trip, as the morning walk leads gently through the alpine forest with mild cool climate following the raging river upstream on reaching Lete and Kalapani villages with amazing views of Dhaulagiri mountains with its Ice Falls adjoining Tukuche peaks and on the back Nilgiris peak with Annapurna I and Annapurna Fang (Vara Shikar towards North east) this is the right spot where you are on the world deepest side of Kaligandaki gorge, from the high elevation of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna of above 8,000 meters summit top. After a pleasant stop here continue trek on the river valley for a while and then reaching the apple orchard area of Larjung, Kobang and Tukuche villages beneath the towering Tukuche and Nilgiri peak. From here leaving the tree lines for desert like of Tibetan dry landscapes as the walk leads to Marpha one of the most charming villages in all Himalaya, and famous for apples and products apple cider, brandy, juice, dry apples and apricots and local brew.

Day 09 : Trek to Kagbeni 2,810 via Jomsom 2,715m – 05 hrs.
With great enjoyable overnight in Marpha, morning walk leads again following the Kaligandaki River for sometime after few hours of walk reaching at Jomsom, a headquarter and main town of Mustang area with a small airstrip, on the shelf of Kaligandaki river, after a nice stop here our journey continues afternoon can get windy on this valley, taking precaution wearing mask or scarf to save from cool strong wind. Walk slowly reaches a small place of Eklaibhatti, located between Kagbeni and to Muktinath. After a pleasant stop here our walk leads on a gradual winding path to reach at Kagbeni for overnight stop in a nice cozy lodge. Afternoon free to wander and observe the local life and its culture, as this village the entrance to Upper Mustang and beyond to Tibet border, the culture, religion and way of life is similar to Tibet.

Day 10 : Trek to Muktinath 3,800 m – 04 hrs.
After a nice stop at Kagbeni, morning walk with last uphill climb of this trip as the path leads to a steep winding climb with fantastic views of Nilgiris and Dhaulagiri peaks, slowly our morning walk reaches a weather beaten Jharkot village, from here the altitude rapidly above 3,600 meters, with an hour of steep climb reaching at Muktinath area with good lodges overnight stop. Here in Muktinath enjoy the north face of Dhaulagiri with other adjoining peaks, this place located on the popular Annapurna circuit trail. Afternoon or next morning visit Muktinath temple dedicated to lord Vishnu, the word Mukti means ‘Liberation or Freedom’ people and pilgrims from Nepal and India visit this place for blessing and prayer, bathe at 108 icy water spouts.

Day 11 : Drive to Jomsom 2,715 m – 2 hrs.
Today end of walking, late morning interesting Jeep drive to Jomsom, leading on winding downhill on flat Kali Gandaki River plains, at Jomsom with last night around Mustang area with afternoon free for short walk around

Day 12 : Fly to Pokhara and transfer to hotel.
Morning walk to Jomsom small airport for short sweeping and scenic flight to picturesque Pokhara valley, Pokhara with massive Annapurna mountain views with serene Phewa Lake.

Day 13 : Drive or fly back to Kathmandu – 06 hrs.
Morning a scenic drive back to Kathmandu, after a wonderful trip around Lower Mustang & Kaligandaki valley trekking, on reaching Kathmandu transfer to respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure for relaxation and shopping souvenirs. (Flying options as per the flight time our staff transfer you to Pokhara domestic airport for 30 minutes scenic flight to Kathmandu)

Day 14 : International departure for homeward bound.
